FAQ:
Q: Is the restoration process performed directly onto the original?
A: No. The photo is scanned to a computer and from there the retouching is performed. Your photo will be returned to you in the same condition as when we received it.
Q: I don’t want to risk ruining the photo by taking it out of the frame, can you still retouch the photo?
A: Yes. Send us the framed photo and we will remove the photo to scan and restore it. Either the original or the copy can be put back in your frame. Being professional custom picture framers, we have the proper tools to remove your photo without any harm.
Q: Can my photo be resized to fit into a frame I already have?
A: To some extent, it depends on the size of the frame. Images are increased and reduced in proportion. Not all images can be enlarged to fit standard frames (ex. 4”x6”, 5”x7”, 8”x10”). If not, we suggest using a mat to make up the differences of the frame.
Q: How do I protect my photo once it has been restored?
A: Keep your photos away from sunlight, moisture, excessive handling, and non-archival paper. Store in acid-free photos albums, or archival picture framing mats. Professionally framed, you’re photos will last for generations to come. We use acid-free mats and backing boards, and UV-resistant glass.
Q: Can I get an estimate before the restoration work is started?
A: Yes. All orders are given an estimate. Either by email or phone, we will notify you of cost and time to complete your order.
Q: I would like my photo framed when its finished, how long does it take to complete?
A: It depends on the amount of work that needs to be done on your photo, generally two weeks.
